After completion of the Fall Seminar Series, members have the opportunity to join our Research Analyst program in the spring. Analysts will join an industry group of their choice for the duration of the program, which involves pitching 3 stocks throughout the semester that they believe will be good long-term investments. Industry teams may vary by year but typically include Consumer, Financials, Healthcare, Media,  and Technology.

 

What Do Research Analysts Gain?

The Research Analyst program allows students to conduct financial analysis, learn about companies and industries from an investor's perspective, and develop valuable skills such as assembling an investment thesis and valuing a company. As a resource, Research Analyst groups receive Executive Board mentors, all of whom  have completed the program in past years and can help analysts develop their skills further.

Enhanced Opportunities

Interested analysts will have the opportunity to participate in the SWS National Stock Pitch Competition, where SWS chapters nationwide compete against each other. In previous years, companies such as Lazard have partnered with SWS for the final stock pitch by offering useful feedback for students. All in all, the program is an exhilarating experience and a great way to gain hands-on experience into the world of investing.
