Seminar Series
The 10-week Seminar Series during fall semesters is designed to provide new members with a broad introduction to investing. Each week, we will build on the previous curriculum. Designed by SWS National with the help of industry professionals and individual investors, the curriculum has been created especially for undergraduate students with little to no prior background. Unique to SWS, we invite different finance professionals every week from firms across New York City to teach the seminar. Our seminars are intended to give undergraduate women a starting foundation upon which they can build knowledge and learn more about investing in a comfortable community setting. To conclude the Seminar Series, students will complete a capstone investment project, where they get the opportunity to working in small teams and research an assigned company in depth. Each team will use their knowledge from seminars, complete further research in the industry, and may have the opportunity to speak with industry professionals. The semester will culminate with investment recommendations by each team and final presentations.
